Esol Reflection

I don’t really know what they did this week because I was away yesterday due to gateway placement, and I don’t have Esol period on Monday unlike them. Last week, we had an activity – listening test. It was a practice for our upcoming assessment which is listening assessment. I  did great and scored perfect at first and got one or two mistakes in the next two practice tests. I was expecting a lot of mistakes because I thought the words used are level three words but it was easy and got most of the questions right. If it was level three text, I think I will have a low scores because I’m not used in listening deep and unfamiliar English words. I think that reading more would help me to have a broad list of words in my vocabulary.

Playing the Past Tense Game

Today we played a game, an English type of game to be exact. It was called “Past Tense”. The game was about filling in the blank with the correct past tense of the verb to complete the sentence. There was also a part of the game where you need to drag the boxes to its proper past tense form. The game was pretty easy. The game has only three cycles or rounds. It was a little bit challenging because I find it difficult to play the game using the chromebooks mouse pad. By playing the game, I learned more about the past tense of the verbs. It is a fun game but I would not recommend playing it using a chromebook because it is tiring to the hands. The game was good for someone who has difficulty in using past tense verbs.

How Can I Contribute to a Positive Classroom Environments – ESOL

There are many ways in contributing to a positive classroom environment. I love connecting to others, it is also a great way to have a fun class. It is important to build relationships with others. Greeting others, being warm, and friendly is the best way to show it. You can also share your enthusiasm about the course and relevant personal experience.

Tourism Year 13 : Travel Plan 2024

China

I chose this place because it is so underrated. I want to try their unique local cuisine and see & explore their amazing local structures. I’m going alone so I’m flying with Emirates Airline in Business class to explore different cities and places in China. On my trip I prepared my passport and tourist visa because China requires travellers to have a visa.

  • Qingyun Ping Pavilion is a tea house as it is a place to learn all about Chinese culture. In addition to tea tastings and classes, I also want to attend their seminars and classes such as calligraphy and Chinese mythology and spend an afternoon soaking in everything this tea house has to offer. After a whole tea tasting adventure in Shanghai, I will be going straight to Sanya, Hainan, China by plane and staying at the famous Atlantis Sanya Hotel in Poseidon Underwater Suite to experience living underwater with marine life seen at the large window in my room. I will be staying here for 3 days and exploring nearby villages and eat a lot of delicious fresh seafood.

Esol Speech Reflections

I think that what went well was my confidence to stand in front of the class for the second time without shaking my legs. What didn’t go well was forgetting that I have a presentation to show, due to nervousness I forgot to click the button and I also think that my voice cracked when I was delivering the speech. The next time I’ll do a speech, I will practice enhancing my body language, memorising the text of my speech and build up my confidence so that my mind will not be blank during the presentation.
